HAMILTON - A pot-smoking Canadian granny is off the legal hook. A Judge in Hamilton, Ontario, has given 70-year-old Jean Cooper an absolute discharge of charges of possession of a small amount of marijuana. Cooper pleaded guilty, but under Canadian law an absolute discharge means there's no sentence and no record of conviction. Cooper was busted at the In Smoke Cafe, a weed-friendly shop where patrons openly smoke pot. She claimed she needed it for medical reasons. The judge says the dismissal was justified given Cooper's age, health concerns and earlier guilty plea. -------------------- Granny even likes to burn the leaf.
